Kiddie Cocktail

The Kiddie Cocktail is the Shirley Temple’s identical twin — lemon-lime soda, grenadine, and a cherry garnish. Every restaurant with a kids’ menu has some version of this drink. It’s the first ‘cocktail’ most people ever order, and there’s something genuinely magical about watching the grenadine sink through the clear soda.

Ingredients

  • 20 cl lemon-lime soda
  • 3 cl grenadine syrup

Instructions

  1. Build in a highball glass.
  2. Add 7-up or sprite over ice and sprinkle grenadine syrup over it.
  3. Garnish with a lemon slice and a cherry.
