Recipe and Editorial Policy

DrinkSpin is a recipe reference for home mixing. This policy explains how to interpret the recipes and the editorial notes in the collection.

Ingredient and instruction checks

When a recipe is revised, its ingredient list, method, serving information, and related links are checked for consistency. Edits should correct concrete errors and add practical preparation guidance. A consistency check is not the same as physically mixing or tasting a drink.

Testing claims

We do not describe the full archive as taste-tested. A page should claim hands-on testing only when that testing actually took place and the method can be described. Publication or review dates alone do not establish that a recipe was physically tested.

Measures and variations

Use the measures shown on the individual page. Terms such as shot, jigger, splash, and dash are not universally fixed volumes. Where an archived recipe leaves a quantity open, the page should say so rather than inventing a precise amount. Scaling a recipe changes the arithmetic; it does not validate a party batch or determine its final dilution.

Sources

External recipe references are linked on pages that use them. Original preparation notes are written for the specific version shown. Ingredient substitutions and distinct variations should be identified clearly rather than silently presented as identical recipes.

Images and assistance

The site includes AI-generated drink illustrations and may use AI assistance in drafting and checking content. Illustrations are not documentation of a prepared drink. Ingredient lists and instructions remain the basis for making the recipe.

Corrections and ongoing review

Legacy content is reviewed in stages. A published page should not be treated as a guarantee that every quantity, timing, or presentation has been independently verified. Revisions should preserve useful existing URLs and distinguish source-backed corrections from assumptions.
