Applejack Sour

The Applejack Sour applies the classic sour formula — spirit, lemon juice, sugar, and a splash of soda — to applejack brandy. Applejack has been distilled in America since colonial times, making this one of the most historically American sours you can make. The apple brandy’s fruity warmth replaces whiskey’s grain character, creating a sour that’s lighter and more orchard-fresh. A splash of soda adds a gentle fizz to the finish.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Applejack® brandy
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 splash soda water

Instructions

  1. Pour the brandy, lemon juice and sugar into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well, and strain into a highball glass.
  3. Top with soda water, garnish with a lemon wedge, and serve.
