Fraises Fizz

The Fraises Fizz — ‘fraises’ being French for strawberries — adds strawberry liqueur to the gin fizz formula. The result is a blush-pink fizz with berry sweetness layered over the juniper and citrus. Strawberry liqueur was a popular addition to cocktails in French bars during the Belle Époque, and this fizz captures that same spirit of elegant, fruit-forward drinking. Light, aromatic, and perfect for warm afternoons.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1 oz strawberry liqueur
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar syrup
  • soda water

Instructions

  1. Combine the gin, strawberry liqueur, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a highball glass.
  4. Add soda water, and garnish with a strawberry and a twist of lemon peel.
