Bird of Paradise Fizz

The Bird of Paradise Fizz adds blackberry brandy and egg white to the gin fizz template, creating a drink that’s as visually striking as its namesake. The blackberry brandy contributes a deep purple hue and berry sweetness, while the egg white produces a luxurious foam cap. This style of embellished fizz was popular in high-end hotel bars during the early 20th century, where presentation was as important as flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz blackberry brandy
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz sugar syrup
  • 1/2 oz egg white

Instructions

  1. Shake ingredients (except soda) well and strain into a highball glass half-filled with ice.
