The Cutty Collins applies the Collins formula — spirit, lemon juice, sugar, soda water — to Cutty Sark Scotch whisky. The Collins family originated with the John Collins (whiskey) and Tom Collins (gin), and extending it to Scotch creates a drink that balances the whisky’s smokiness with bright citrus and effervescence. Cutty Sark, the blended Scotch launched in 1923, has a lighter profile that works particularly well in this tall, refreshing format.
