Green Fizz

The Green Fizz gets its name and color from a measure of green crème de menthe added to the standard gin fizz base. It also includes egg white for body, putting it somewhere between a Silver Fizz and a Grasshopper. The mint liqueur adds a cooling, herbal dimension that plays unexpectedly well with gin’s botanicals. It’s an unusual but historically authentic cocktail that appeared in multiple pre-Prohibition recipe books.
