The Joe Collins puts a distinctly un-traditional spin on the Collins format by using Scotch whisky with sweet and sour mix and Coca-Cola instead of soda water. It’s a casual, easy-drinking highball that’s closer to a Scotch and Coke than a proper Collins. The sweet and sour mix adds a citrus element that lifts the Scotch beyond simple soda mixing, while the cola’s caramel sweetness rounds everything out.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Scotch whisky
- 2 oz sweet and sour mix
- Coca-Cola®
- 1 cherry
Instructions
- Pour scotch and sweet and sour into a collins glass over ice cubes and stir well.
- Fill with cola and stir lightly.
- Top with the cherry and serve.
