May Blossum Fizz

The May Blossom Fizz is a rare and unusual member of the fizz family, built on Swedish Punsch — a traditional Scandinavian liqueur made with Batavia Arrack, sugar, and spices that dates back to the 18th century. A touch of grenadine adds color and sweetness, while lemon juice and soda water provide the classic fizz structure. Swedish Punsch was widely available in American bars before Prohibition but has become increasingly hard to find, making this a true cocktail rarity.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Swedish punsch
  • 1 tsp grenadine syrup
  • juice of 1/2 lemons
  • carbonated water

Instructions

  1. Shake all ingredients (except carbonated water) with ice and strain into a highball glass over two ice cubes.
  2. Fill with carbonated water, stir, and serve.
