The Pussyfoot is a classic non-alcoholic cocktail from the Prohibition era, combining orange, lemon, and lime juices with grenadine and an egg yolk. Named after William ‘Pussyfoot’ Johnson, a fierce Prohibition advocate, it was one of the first mocktails created as a serious alternative to alcohol. The egg yolk gives it a frothy, rich texture.
Ingredients
- 2 oz orange juice
- 2 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1 tsp grenadine syrup
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
- Combine the juices, grenadine and egg in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes, and shake well.
- Strain into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes, and serve.
