Scotch whisky and crème de menthe stirred over ice with dark tea, strained and garnished with a mint sprig. The tea adds tannin and earthiness to the Scotch while the crème de menthe provides a cool counterpoint. An unusual combination that reads like a bartender's experiment but drinks like it was planned all along.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Scotch whisky
- 1 oz creme de menthe
- 1/2 – 2 oz dark tea
Instructions
- Pour the Scotch whisky and creme de menthe, into a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes.
- Add dark tea, to taste.
- Stir well.
- Strain into a cocktail glass, garnish with a mint sprig, and serve.
