Grendel

The Grendel is named after the monster from Beowulf, and this cocktail is similarly formidable — five spirits and liqueurs in a single glass. Cointreau, Blue Curaçao, white crème de menthe, advocaat, and vodka combine into something surprisingly drinkable despite its fearsome ingredient list. The advocaat (a Dutch liqueur made from egg yolks and sugar) adds a rich, custard-like body, while the mint and orange liqueurs provide aromatic complexity. The Blue Curaçao gives it an eerie, monster-appropriate color.

Simple, bracing, and built from 1 msr Cointreau® orange liqueur, 1 msr Blue Curacao liqueur, and 1 msr white creme de menthe — the Grendel is a no-brainer.
